Kids dig holes in the backyard instead of cleaning their room after mom's threat
My mother once "threatened" to make my brother (6) and I (4) sleep outside if we didn't get our room cleaned up. So we decided that we should probably spend the rest of the day preparing to sleep outside because that would be WAY easier than cleaning our room. Our bright idea was to dig holes for us to sleep in so we could cover ourselves in leaves and sticks to act as blankets. So instead of my mom finding her sons cleaning their room, she found them digging their own graves in the back yard.

What is the most ridiculous thing you did as a child?
Overview
This image is a screenshot of a public Reddit question thread. The opening post asks users to share the most ridiculous thing they did as a child. A top comment from user u/BagelStealer42 recounts a humorous childhood story: when the commenter was 4 and their brother was 6, their mother threatened that they would have to sleep outside if they failed to clean their room. Instead of cleaning, the two children decided preparing to sleep outside was easier, so they went to the backyard and dug holes to sleep in, planning to use leaves and sticks as blankets. The punchline of the story plays on the double meaning of the idiom 'digging their own graves', as their mother found them literally digging holes that looked like graves in the backyard instead of cleaning their room. The comment has received 7.2k upvotes, 4.6k replies, and 8 user awards on Reddit.
