Wholesome Drug Dealer Professionals Have Standards Meme

The meme opens with the text line 'Professionals have standards.' at the top. Below this is a screenshot of an r/AskReddit thread: the original post asks drug dealers on the platform what the strangest thing they have ever received as compensation for drugs is. The top comment is written by a former opiate user, who shares that her drug dealer would only sell her drugs if she gave him her self-harm blades and allowed him to check her for cuts. Once she began recovering, the dealer refused to sell to her further and arranged for other local dealers to blacklist her, which the commenter states was one of the main reasons she was able to turn her life around. The meme frames the dealer's unexpected, caring and responsible actions as an unusual but positive example of professional standards.

Ex-user of opiates here. My dealer would only give me the drugs if I gave him my blades and allowed him to check me for any cuts. I was in a seriously dark time and he helped me in a lot of ways. Eventually, once I started to get better, he refused to sell me any drugs and also made it clear to his friend dealers that I was blacklisted. One of the reasons I turned my life around.
